The hydraulic jar tester is a kind of hydraulic tester which can be used to test tensile performance and pressure performance for jars, shock absorbers and accelerators as well as to test the connection strength, it is therefore regarded as an important testing equipment in petroleum industry.

Its primary function is to ensure that the jar can deliver a set impact force (upward and downward) when needed during drilling or tripping operations. This pre-operation test is crucial for operational safety and efficiency, as a malfunctioning jar may fail to free a stuck drill string, leading to costly salvage operations or even well loss.
