Tricone Rock Drill Bits

Tricone rock bits which are used for several exploration drilling applications is designed for getting more performance in extreme depths and conditions. There is a wide variety models basically as Tungsten Carbide Insert and Steel Tooth to fulfill the needs of professionals.

  • Rock drill bits are specialized tools used in industries like mining and construction to drill through hard rock formations. They come in various types, including roller cone bits, diamond bits, PDC bits, and drag bits. Roller cone bits have cone-shaped heads with cutting elements, diamond bits use synthetic diamonds, PDC bits have diamond particles in a matrix body, and drag bits scrape or grind through the rock. The choice depends on rock hardness and drilling requirements. Rock drill bits are crucial for efficient and productive drilling operations in challenging rock environments.
IADC Codes are designed to make it easier for drillers to describe what kind of rock bit they are looking for to the supplier.
The first three digits classify the bit according to the formation it is designed to drill and the bearing/seal design used.

    1.1 First Digit:

1, 2, and 3 designate STEEL TOOTH BITS and the formation being drilled, with 1 for soft, 2 for medium, and 3 for hard formations. 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 designate tungsten carbide insert bits and the formation being drilled, with 4 being the softest and 8 the hardest formation. 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 designate TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERT BITS for varying formation hardness with 4 being the softest and 8 the hardest.

    1.2 Second Digit:

1, 2, 3 and 4 are further broken down by the formation, with 1 being the softest and 4 the hardest breakdown of formation with 1 being the softest and 4 the hardest.

    1.3 Third Digit:

Classifies the bit according to bearing/seal type and special gauge/wear protection.
